The Golf
Mission Hills Resort Haikou is the largest golf club in the world, consisting of 10 golf courses! Winner of multiple international awards, the 20-square kilometer golf complex features championship courses designed by golf’s greatest legends and architects. You’ll experience three of Asia’s most famous courses, Blackstone, Lava Field and Shadow Dunes.
Blackstone
The crown jewel is the Blackstone Course, a spectacular 350 acre golf course that weaves through a striking landscape of mature trees, thick jungle vegetation, and expansive lakes and wetlands.
The dominating site characteristic is the bed of lava rock which was capped with material located 25 miles away. The naturally rolling terrain sees dramatic elevation change and great care was taken to find as many natural holes as possible to avoid cutting the rock and to preserve the magnificent Lychee trees.
The Blackstone course has been rate as the best championship course in Asia and the venue for the annual World Ladies Championship and the biennial World Celebrity Pro-Am.
Lava Fields
With fairways characterised by large waste bunkers, the Lava Fields course can be stretched to a mammoth 7,475 yards from the championship tees. Hole 9, at 513 yards, is the longest and toughest par four on the card while the 18th is one of the best at the resort, a downhill par five with plenty of playing options from tee to green.
Shadow Dunes
A Schmidt & Curley design unlike any of the others at Mission Hills Haikou, Shadow Dunes is the tenth course and features a sporty links layout in a natural dune setting. Shadow Dunes, arguably has the most character, in terms of design and is the one course that seems to sit apart from the rest.

Amid the grandeur of the island’s tropical volcanic landscape, Mission Hills Resort Haikou features an 18-storey luxurious hotel and annex with breathtaking panoramic golf course views. The complex also houses numerous world-class sports, leisure, entertainment and dining facilities, water park, and a panoramic gallery, establishing itself as one of the most sought-after leisure destinations in China.

You’ll be staying in a Deluxe room that is nestled amidst lush surroundings, offering panoramic views of volcanic golf courses.
The Welcome Party
On the first night, we host a welcome party for all of the tour participants. A casual atmosphere allows our guests to dive in for a swim, sip cocktails by the poolside and have a laugh with friends. Included is a BBQ buffet dinner with a wide selection of cuisine from all around the world. You’ll also enjoy 2 hours of cocktails and other refreshments. This welcome party is the perfect time to not only take in the incredible surroundings, but also be introduced to your fellow golfers and tour coordinators.
Did you know?
- Great news! If you have an Australian passport, you don’t need a visa for a round-trip vacation to Hainan Island from Australia.
- Hainan Island is a tropical paradise known for it’s pristine beaches, resorts and warm climate. It’s no wonder they call it the Hawaii of China!
- Mission Hills Haikou is the world’s 2nd-largest golf complex. Blackstone course (Day 4!) hosted the match between Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy in 2013.

- You can fly direct from Sydney or Melbourne into Haikou Meilan International Airport but most flights are via mainland China or Singapore.

Event is open to players with and without an official AGU Handicap.
Handicapped players will be in Division 1 and Non-Handicapped players in Division 2. Division 1 Players earn DOUBLE points towards the Golfer Tour Order of Merit.
