Royal Melbourne Golf Course (West)
As the best golf course in Australia and one of the most famous courses in the world, a visit to Royal Melbourne is unlike any other. Steeped in history since 1926, Royal Melbourne offers amateur golfers the chance to walk and play a course that has graced the worlds very best. Some of the tournaments hosted by the Royal Melbourne include the Australian Open, 16 times, the World Cup, the Bicentennial Classic, the Presidents Cup and the Women’s Australian Open. West course highlights include dramatic undulations, a natural rugged appearance and bold bunkering – while the rough around the tees and bunkers are a mix of native grasses which naturally frame each hole. The greens are perhaps its signature feature and for decades have consistently provided the finest putting surfaces in Australia.
